Abstracts for Posters

All attendees are strongly encouraged to submit an abstract for a poster presentation. This can be done through your personal myEBBS2023 area; you will need to to have an account to have access to the latter.

The abstract submission deadline is 30 June 2023.

Abstract format

Title
The title must start in uppercase and continue in lowercase, except for conventional terms (ATP, DNA, NFκB, etc). Example:
    This title is written correctly
This Title is Not Properly Written
     ALSO THIS TITLE IS WRONG

Authorship
If more than one author (but only in that case), underline your name (the presenting author, in whatever position you appear in the author list) and use commas to separate the author names; do not use 'and' before the last author. Write your name and surname in full; for any other authors use initial(s) for the first name(s) followed by the surname. If more than one affiliation (but only in that case), use sequential superscript numbers to identify each institution. Example:
  Mario Rossi1, J. Doe2, F.C. Bloggs1,2
1Dept Biomembranes, Golgi & Veratti Univ., Pavia, Italy
2Dept Bioblast Analyses, Altmann Univ., Leipzig, Germany

Text
Keep the abstract text to within 2000 characters, spaces included (this is roughly equivalent to 250 words).

Posters

The three poster sessions are scheduled for Sunday (27 August), Monday (28 Augst), both days at 12:00, and Tuesday (29 August) at 11:30.

If your abstract has been accepted for a poster presentation, when preparing your poster please remember that the maximum size is A0 size (841 x 1189 mm; width x height).

Correct format... poster should be PORTRAIT  poster should NOT be LANDSCAPE Wrong format...

Posters must be mounted on the day of the presentation only, and removed at the end of the same day. Posters left behind after the end of the day will be discarded by the venue personnel.

While the posters will be on display during the whole day to be viewed, poster presenters need to be available for discussion at their poster for the entire duration of the poster session.

Accommodation

Please visit the venue page for suggestions about accommodation in Amsterdam.
All participants are strongly advised to book their accommodation well in advance since hotels will quickly become unavailable.

Meet the experts

During the EBBS meeting in Amsterdam, we offer an opportunity for Ph.D. students and postdocs to sign up to an informal lunchtime "meet the expert" session.

This is a chance for small groups to have lunch, and chat, with members of the EBBS committee and/or senior scientists attending the meeting. It is an opportunity to ask questions and gain experience from those that have already developed their careers in the field.

Numbers are limited, and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. We cannot at this stage identify who the expert will be, or which day of the meeting the lunch will happen on. Closer to the time of the meeting we will contact those that have signed up and finalise groups, experts, and timings.
